angelacbishop Posted November 30, 2008 Goregeous! How do you keep the back wall so clean even in the spots down behind the rocks? Quote Link to comment

GobyInPeace Posted November 30, 2008 Thanks for the kind words everyone! Here are some tank specs: Tank: AGA 40 gallon breeder. Started 12/7/05. Many of the Corals and LR were transferred from my previous tank, an 18 month old 30G. Mechanical Filtration: Modified HOB AqauClear 200 with in-tank surface skimmer. Biological filtration: 35lbs of LR from Fiji, Marshall Islands, and Tonga. Various types of macro algae. Lighting: 4x39 watt T5s overdriven to 64 watts each. One of each: ATI Blue Plus, ATI Aqua Blue Special, UVL Superactinic, GE 6500K Daylight. The tank is sumpless and is home to mostly LPS and softies. Fish are as follows: 2 Green Chromies, Yellow Watchman Goby, Blue Orangetail Damsel, Dragonface Pipefish. The back glass is kept clean with a magfloat and razor. The rockwork is in the center of the tank so there is plenty of room for cleaning. Lots of chaeto is hidden behind the rock work to create an "in-tank" fuge. Quote Link to comment

Refleck Posted December 1, 2008 That's the way to do it skimmerless. I never had a problem even with all the soft coral i have in my 20 gallon. Great Job... Quote Link to comment
Kalamata Posted December 1, 2008 This is... I can't the words to describe it. Great job. Quote Link to comment
Salty Frag Posted December 2, 2008 This is the tank I hope to aspire to! I'm new at this so forgive my questions. What is your feeding regimen for your tank? The tank appears to have a shallow sandbed, is there a reason for this? I have a lot of learning to do. It's stunning tank! Quote Link to comment
GobyInPeace Posted December 13, 2008 Salty Frag ~ I feed my fish 1-2 times a day and my corals at night 3 times a week or so. I have a shallow sandbed because I prefer to keep it stirred up and free of detritus. Quote Link to comment
