any thoughts on maybe what i should stock corals and clean up crew?

stocking all depends on what kind of lighting you have.

Are you using that stick on thermometer to read temps?

that and a pulp thermometer lights 20 watts on 5.5GL

softies things like zoas and mushrooms. Nothing that gets too big. Either aquascape works for me, once you fill with corals they both will look great

I really like your rock work. However, just remember to think about cleaning the glass in the back. When the rocks are leaned up against the glass it makes it hard to clean any algae off the glass as you cannot get any magnetic scrappers back there. Sometimes I scrape the back of my hands on the rocks when I have to clean it with a sponge/scrapper.

Who cleans their rear glass? Mine is full of coralline algae. The sides is more important to keep clear of the rocks, the back, don't worry about it.
