dahliaheartsyou Posted August 3, 2008 are you ever going to answer the specs of your tank? size, lighting filtration, parameters? Quote Link to comment
polypboy Posted August 3, 2008 allglass 10 gallon aquariom t5 lighting 6.5pounds of live rock 8.3ph amonia 0ppm nitrate 0ppm nitrite 5ppm filter power head iam going to put in Quote Link to comment
dahliaheartsyou Posted August 4, 2008 you need at least double that amount live rock... you haven't finished cycling, nitrites should be 0. so no corals unless you want them dead. what size filter? Aquaclear/hang on back? what is the brand of t5, what kind of reflectors? looks better without the fake stuff... but what is the reddish block in the front? Quote Link to comment
polypboy Posted August 4, 2008 it is an bio wheel filter for 20 gallon lighting is nova extreme the reddish block is a rock thet i got at petco Quote Link to comment
polypboy Posted August 4, 2008 do you like the rockwork in the other picture better Quote Link to comment
dahliaheartsyou Posted August 4, 2008 oh i see....maybe take out the rock...it may look ok in a FOWLR but not in a reef tank. can you get a whole shot with the lights too? I've always been interested in the PRO version of that fixture, they look really good. Quote Link to comment
dahliaheartsyou Posted August 4, 2008 there isn't enough rock to make a decent aquascaping job. it just looks like pieces, get some more and it will look a lot better, and it is your main source or filtration. Quote Link to comment
dahliaheartsyou Posted August 4, 2008 you know coral can't survive without it right? cuz I know you asked for a frag... Quote Link to comment
dahliaheartsyou Posted August 4, 2008 i would say you want 10-15 lbs in there, smaller pieces to make more open rockwork. if you go to the Member Aquariums forums, you can look for 10 gallon tanks for inspiration. Quote Link to comment
dahliaheartsyou Posted August 4, 2008 what kind of fluorescent? the same one used on freshwater light strips? or power compacts/t5? and is it daylight or actinic? Quote Link to comment
lakshwadeep Posted August 4, 2008 One of these rocks is not like the others... The reddish striped rock doesn't look like any live rock I've ever seen. It reminds me of the rock offered for freshwater tanks. If it is not live rock, then you may want to take it out to avoid chances of leaching metals/chemicals that can harm your fish. MR.FEESH Posted August 4, 2008 wo dude. What are you doin. You need to research. a lot. No fake stuff. u need a real filter. NO petco. cept for salt and supplies like that. look at the other picutres of 10 gal, what are the differences between yours and theirs? Power head = yes a good idea. NO coral for a while. U need cycle, than small live stuff, then mature tank THEN coral. Quote Link to comment
