GobyDude Posted December 28, 2007 Wow, earlier you said you would take some of the fish back to the fish store... unfortunately you didn't take the tang back... bad mistake. Quote Link to comment
LoBo Posted December 28, 2007 hey, get a naso tang, it'd really look good in your tank Quote Link to comment
wildernesstank Posted December 28, 2007 ^ ya that sounds good with 2 yellow tangs while you add it Quote Link to comment
KOFP Posted December 28, 2007 You made a step in the right direction, taking out most of your fish. But, the blue tang should have been the most important one to get out. I highly recommend returning/trading it to a fish store and get a fish more suited to your tank, such as a goby or occelaris clown "nemo". It may be just okay now that it's small, but when it grows it needs to get out of there ASAP. Quote Link to comment
natrate Posted December 28, 2007 I say you do an experiment and see how long the tang can live. Disprove some of these sucker tang police. Quote Link to comment

tigers fan Posted January 12, 2008 Why not get something more along the lines of a BARACUDA!!!!!!!!!!! Quote Link to comment
The Frog Posted January 17, 2008 No, no, get the tang a mate. Let it spawn. Have a hundred tangs!!! Nice tank though. I actually don't think its a bad idea to see how long it is able to be in a small tank before needing to be transfered. I wouldn't do it, but since you have the tang you could try if you want. Just bring it back to the store if it surpasses 4.5 inches. You know, it might not. I've heard that sometimes fish stay smaller if they are very confined. You know, if there wasn't some person out there who had tried keeping a few fish in a 10 gallon, recieving much disdane and unhelpful comments from others, I might add. We would never have Nano Tanks. If you try and it doesn't pass 4.5" ever, you might have just evolved Nano-Reefing. Nano-Reefing is a new thing! People are still discovering different things to make them work better, different ways to keep more stuff in them. It's amazing how far people have gone! There's even people having success with Mandarins in 10-gallons! Why? It's because people research and do things with a certain amount of knowledge, and... I better stop before I go into a 3 page long rant... Quote Link to comment
eLL-dEE Posted January 18, 2008 yea, well.... Stress is put upon anything that is confined... If it can not grow at the rate it is supposed to then you have a stressed fish that will not live as long as it should have. Quote Link to comment
The Frog Posted January 18, 2008 We must calm the fish...let them meditate...feel the spirits of thousands of other small microorgansims and the coral...feel the vibrations as the sway with the current...ahh...such a lovely thought... Of course, I do not think fish know how to meditate... True, stress is bad. But, sometimes stress can be overcome. Such as if you are the new kid at school (a school with bullies, I should add) and when you walk down the hallway, someone either points at you or simply stares. Eventually, you find a way to fit in and it seems like that school is a second home. Of course, fish are different than humans... Quote Link to comment
