Purple Sponge? ID?

I recently moved this rock and I noticed this purple sponge thing it is about the size of a dime, dark purple, and squishy when touched. At first I thought it was some nice dark purple coraline but no dice on that. Any Ideas?

Pretty! It most likely is a sponge. Probably likes lower lighting areas. Did you find it on the underside of the rock when you moved it?

Edit: Just saw Mr. Fosi's post about the colonial tunicates. It is a possibility.

I have a navy blue one, a pink one, and a yellow one. Not a 100% sure what they are either, but my guess was sponge as well. I'd like to know more about them. Since if they could grow without causing problems it would really add some much needed color diversity to my tank.
