AP24 one week old. Cycled, put in Percula pair and a few corals 3/31/07

How do you cycle a tank in a week?

I have 40lbs of live sand, 25lbs of cured Fiji live rock, and I used about 7-8 gallons from my brothers reef tank. I scrubbed the rock with like a potato brush when I bought it and got a lot of crap off of it. I have read that that helps a lot in speeding up the cycling. The guys at my LFS were amazed with my water and how fast it cycled. They are only about 5 min away so I've been there all week and they have been monitoring things to see how it was going.

what is that dish thing in your tank for?

I had got some mushrooms from my LFS and put that in there to house them along with a few pieces of rock so that they would attach themselves and not get blow around the tank.
