just so you know... it shouldn't be on its side liek that. If it is falling over on its own it is not happy.

so what should I do?? I've put him right side up twice and he keeps making him self fall over... I asked my LFS and they said it shouldn't be a big deal, but I didn't believe them...

what lighting do you have on the tank?

 

burry a rock under the sand, then put the clam on the rock (burry part of his shell so he is sitting on the rock) Then place shells or other rocks next to him so he can't fall over.

 

I really hope you have metal halide lighting....

I have about 250w of T5 lighting and i'm also feeding the clam DTs premium formula

how far from the lights is the clam? Crocea clams like to be close as possible

 

That said, the safest way is to use the above discribed method to get him to attach to a rock, then move the entire rock up higher in your tank.

well the lights are about 4-5 inchs over the water and the clam is at the bottom of the tank so in total about 2 feet from the light source maybe a couple inches less.
