More Simple lighting?

I wonder if one needs actinics at all to balance the spectrum if one runs 12K Metal Halides instead of 10K or cooler?? I'd rather just have one 250W 12K bulb above my 26 gallon bow.

Depends on the brand of bulb and your color preference. Personally, I run Aqualine 14k (sold as 10k) bulbs on all my tanks alone. It's a crisp white color with enough blue to show in the colors. Very natural to me. I think the 12k bulb alone will be fine....the corals will be fine with it too.
