phrases37
i've got an eclipse 12 with a csl 32w smartlite, a maroon clown, a damsel, and a purple bass...i've also got a few soft corals in the tank...due to the eclipse 12 hood, i can't attach a skimmer...i'd like to add a BTA, but without a skimmer, i hear it's not wise to add a BTA...what are your opinions on adding a canister filter and performing frequent water changes in regards to keeping a BTA? and if the BTA isn't a possibility, are canister filters worth the price? if so...which would you recommend? Rocket_155
Canister filters are usually a trap for nitrates. They are not the best thing to have when the power goes out, because the critters in the filter die, causing a spike in nitrates. So when the power comes back on ith flows into the tank reaking havik. Link to comment
