Bryan
hi I set up a 20g tank 3 months ago and I am now having problems with cloudy water which appears in the morning and has dissapeared by the time the lights go out in the evening. Phosphate and nitrate are both reading nil. Does anybody have any ideas, because I can`t seem to solve the problem Thanks Bryan Link to comment
Brianc_4
We are going to need a little more info to try and help. Tank specs-- lighting? filtration? powerheads and turnover? Type of water used, ro, rodi, distilled, treated tap Live stock? Types of additives used? water parameters? Link to comment
tinyreef
ditto b4's q's and a couple more: does it appear quickly when the lights go on in the morning or does it develop during the dark period? a pic would help immensely but is it a cloudiness or snow-like? and finally, what kind of substrate do you have? Bryan
hi, sorry about the lack of info. I use t5 lighting, an eheim cannister filter for mechanical filtration and 2 * powerhead at 132 gallons per hour. I have approx 30 lb of live rock in there and use live argonite on the bottom. I have been using RO water As it is a new tank I don`t have much stock Live stock at the minute consists mainly of clean up crew 6 red legs, 6 turbo snails, 2 mithrax crabs. I also have a tree coral and a hammerhead I have only 2 fish a damsel and a cleaner wrasse The cloudiness does not appear to be snowlike but it does apear first thing in the morning as soon as the light go on. I have had no need to use any supplements at present and have been using reef crystals to make up the water Hope this is enough info Many Thanks Bryan Link to comment
