TiGs
Hi all - I got these worm like creatures that are attached to the surface area of the rocks and to the shell of a hermit crab. They seem to only extend in dim light conditions. Do not notice them to be bothering anything yet, but they seem to be multiplying and spreading through out the tank. The large ones extend to about 4-5 inches. Any help would be great. Couldnt find anything useful. thanks edit: Pic below, you can see the base of this creature attached to the rock surface Link to comment
TiGs
This is a pic of what it looks like contracted. No longer than a 1-2 cm Link to comment
TiGs
i don't think they are bristle worms because their base is attached to the rock, meaning they are stationary. They only extend and wave around in the current, that's about all the movement they do besides contracting. Link to comment
sjpresley
This one is interesting. My guess is some rather rare type of Bryzoan. They don't usually have so few branches or extend so far....so that may not be correct....but I really can't think of any other possibilities. Link to comment
TiGs
Thanks for your input all. This is what I have, Digitate or Finger-Like Hydroids. They are aggresive and capable of stinging other critters. Suggested removal method would be to use hot Kalk paste and smother the hydriod in it. http://www.rshimek.com/odd_critters.htm#Di...Like%20Hydroids Link to comment
