Iphantom Posted March 7, 2003 Share Posted March 7, 2003 When I introduced my first fish (a yellow tailed damsel) I had brown stuff on my sand and I was told they where called diatoms. they went away after a while I recently gave my the yellow tail damsel to a friend and got a P.clown and royal gramma I have not had them long I now have diatoms agian do I just wait for them to go away or what? -Matt Link to comment

TiGs Posted March 9, 2003 Share Posted March 9, 2003 Dont use tap water. Use Ro/DI or distilled water. Tap water can contain phosphate and other metals that do you no good in reef-keeping. Link to comment
