Those are pics of my pink birdsnest frags, montipora digitata frags, blue tipped acropora frags, and what I thought was purple pillow frags ( but now I think its just a neat variation of a green slimer acro, still hase light pink purple tips forming though ;) )

Yu think the blue tip acro would have a chance of keeping color with PC??

130 watt on 18 gal...

Pagator your Prop tank should be a front display...awesome job...how in the world do you feed all that and get no algae??

Oh I get PLENTY of algae LOL!!

I just have a BIG AZZ clean up crew and I pick the rest out by hand and scrape it.

I bet I have close to 300 hermits, and 100 astreas in there, with about 1.5 billion asterina star fish, 50 or so cerith snails, 6 lettuce nudibranchs......the list is endless LOL!!!

A blue tipped acro would not survive under PC. :(

They are a VERY light demanding coral.

I have the mother colonies directly under two 250w DE 14k halides.

I am talking less than 3 inches from the waters surface and no more than 6-7 away from the bulbs themselves.

Now they dont need that much light to thrive and survive, but I keep mine up there because they produce AMAZING blue tips under very bright lighting.

I will post a pic of the small mother colonies I have.

And thank you for the compliment. BUT the real rerason I never give a full tank shot or certain areas of my tank is because the tank is close to 35 years old and the front glas near the bottom is scratched to heck and back !! LOL!!

Just repeat "cut and glue. cut and glue." to your self over and over again for half an hour and it would have the same effect as seeing me frag LOL!

Here are the small mother colonies I talked about above....

I dare you to find a sweeter blue tipped acro than this one!

To me this is the nicest blue tipped stag I hav ever seen.

It is a cream yellow in person with bright bright bright baby blue on EVERY PROTRUDING POINT ON ITS BODY !!! :)

Litteraly every protruding point is baby blue.

It is MUCH brighter and bluer in person ( as with all my blue tipped acros, even the frags are muich bluer. Just a crapy camera :( )

I need to be alone now with my coral.

If any one every gets a frag of this from me they are gonna trade prized items or pay dearly LOL! I dont want to cut this one what so ever until it is too big to fit in my tank!

With flash.

I might have to go get some of those tiles, ran out of my sand/glue ones. Got a lot of zoas in the 5.5g to frag.

1st & 2nd pics look like multi-colored disco dance floors :P

Just let me know brother. I have plenty and they are all super healthy! :)

Yeah it does resemble a disco floor once the algae gets to them and turns colors huh?

LOL!

Kinda neat!

The pink is the start of coraline on the white tiles.

The green is the star of green coraline

The brown is just the color of the tile.

So is the white.

Are those tiles tumbled marble? If so, those are some expensive frag tiles.....

Looks great Prop, I've got a blue tip stag just like that one... One of my favorites.

darn you! just when I had settled on a zoa and mushroom tank with 96w PC you go and make me want to spend more money.

You don't happen to be working off commission for divorce attorneys do you? :)

Ray,

yup its tumbled marble but they are not expensive what so ever.

You can buy them from Lowes adhered to fiber mesh witha 144 piece count for $13 and change ( some where around there).

Thats no bad at all. Especialy since they are 95 percent calcium carbonate. :-)

No muss no fuss no curing time either.

Just rip'em off the mesh put'em in hot water and peel off the glue

VIOLA !!! Frag plugs the pros use.

:)

So which blue tipped stag do you have that I have pictured?

Not the last one I have pictured is it?

what do I owe you for taking her? Also, be sure to build a proper tank to put her in, she's more potent than a mantis and sea apple combined, and gets really pi$$y so may produce a lot of ammonia, be sure to keep your params in check.

sorry.. straying from topic, but had to say it :)

A full 300 polyp colony of true PPE should do it.

Then I'll box her up and send her back to you via snail mail.

LOL!!!

Nice pics Prop!

Yep, looks just like the last one. One difference is the polyps aren't as dense as yours, they are more spaced out. I'm thinking this is due to insufficient light. That'll change soon enough though.

No you just talked to an idiot.

Go down the isle where the bathroom tiles are.

Look around your self and you will see squares of marble tiles mounted on fiber mesh backing. They wont be in a box they should be laying one on top of another.

Ray,

Post a pic of your blue tipped acro that looks like mine.

mvite thats freaking funny buddy !!!!!!

Helicopter hair LOL!!!! TOO FREAK'N FUNNY GUY !!!

Were they mounted on the fiber mesh?

If you measure them they are 7/8"x 7/8"

( the ones I bought that were on the fiber mesh that is)

Travis,

Yep I sure do. ;)

Link to comment

yeah they were on fiber mesh and labeled as tumbled marble or something like that....Ill have to go back and look again

TP does an incredible job of shipping - my frag of palys I got from him are doing great!

Excellent guy to deal with! A+++ shipping practice!

Wish I had enough lighting (or the right lighting) to try out a small frag of these.
