The guy at my LFS says instead of mixing up a gallon of fresh saltwater for water changes to mix up a bigger 5 gallon sealed container and keep it on hand for water changes. What do ya'll think? Will the water get stagnant or lose Ph?

this was just a quick SEARCH......

CO2 levels and ph drop is always a factor as well as the decline of active buffering compounds in the artificial seawater mix. you CAN mix it up to have it, but uunless you airate it before use, you could have some hydroxide issues and the ph can drop in your main tank and even strip the buffers in your reef to try and raise the PH and Alk of the stored water you are adding as it is Oxygen deprived
