Guest JayDUBh11
I am setting up a 20 gallon nano with no filter or skimmer and I am wondering what the best substrate would be for me. CaribSea with aragonite? Any suggestions? I want to have some bottom dwellers and about a 2-3" sandbed to go with 20 pounds of LR. Also, is Instant Ocean the best option at water mix? And where is the best/cheapest place to get RO/DI water? Link to comment
The Propagator
We need to know what your keeping in it 1st. And why in Gods name would you not use any filtration? I under stand the natural method but the amount of rock you will need to go full on O'natural would be insane for that small of a tank. Are you going to be running a fuge? Link to comment
Guest JayDUBh11
SPS, maybe some Mushrooms, a Clownfish, a Goby, and invertabrates. I may add a nice protein skimmer later, but I wanted to start it off natural. I am getting a Maxi-jet 600 for one side and a 400 for the other. Lighting is limited to 65w 10000k/65w 460nm. I am considering going with a Fiji LR/LS combo of 20/10 pounds. Reasonable? Link to comment
Asin
I use Nature's Ocean, its pretty awesome IMO. I also use ocean water from my LFS. And you should seriously run some type of filter. Link to comment
The Propagator
Crushed aragonite. It desolves over time and releases calcium into the water. Link to comment
