JDNels Posted March 2, 2003 Share Posted March 2, 2003 Here is a pic of the Alife hood with 2 of the aqualux 27w 50/50 The lamps are driven by a Icecap 660 the foil is a temp fix till i can get 2 more pc clips from the manufacter, tried a clip from hamilton but it was to tall. The lamps appear to be quite a bit brighter, perhaps the 660 is overdriving them a bit. Also I think I`m going to stuff a 13w 03 in the back on it`s own timer. Link to comment

rickjg Posted March 10, 2003 Share Posted March 10, 2003 Was it necessary to mount the fans externally? Did you run short of room under the lens? I thought it would be possible to install (2) of the ALIFE bulbs under the lens. I wish I had bought the Work Horse ballast that would drive two lights. I think there would still be room for the ballast and (2) lights, but the reflector would need some major rework. Link to comment
JDNels Posted March 10, 2003 Author Share Posted March 10, 2003 Both the lamps are under the plastic lens but the second lamp was resting on the stock fan so I moved it out of the hood and also added the second 30mm fan cuz the clear cover was tryin to warp i`m gunna get one of those rite lite`s from lowes and run a 13w actinic in the back of the 2 main lamps:) Link to comment
