rubberbanding corals

I've raed several times how you can "force" a soft coral to split by wrapping a rubber band around it's base so that the "squeezed" portion splits a grows another. Would this same technique work with shrooms? I've never read where some one has done this with shrooms, but it seems to reason it could be done.

While it might work I think you're risking it. Probably quicker and easier to just cut it.
