danskim
Here are way late pictures of my 140g. I just got the rock and fish into the tank 2 days ago. They've been chilling in a big 100g tub for the past 5-6 weeks. I created the stand with a frame made of 2x4s and 2x6s. It's still missing doors, but I hope to finish those within the next few weeks. Here's underneath the tank. There is no plywood bottom. Here is the semi-completed project. There are still things that need to be bought.. equipment and livestock. FTS: Plumbing: Don't worry... all the wires and the rest of the crap will be nice and tidy ASAP. And yes, you can see the reflection of me in a beater. Link to comment

Izzue
Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is that a 4 way squirt I see??? All returns on one wall??? If you are gonna build a enclosed wooden hood...I would recommend PVC the squirt around the farthest 2 ends on top of the rim of tank...then you could remove those Seios...Just an Idea Very NIce start...what are the dimensions of that tank??? Looks deep and wide Izzue Link to comment
audiocontrol
Sweet tank, would love to see that one day in person! Where did ya get the rock from? Link to comment
danskim
Unfortunately it's not a 4 way. It's just a regular Squirt powered by a Panworld 50pxx pump. I had it laying around, so I just decided to use it. Those ugly Seios on the left are 1500s, but I am thinking of changing them out with just one Tunze 6100. It's a good idea Izzue, but the flow would be too little without the Seios at the moment. The dimensions are 48"x24"x29", so it is very deep. About 150lbs of the rock is TBS, and another 50 is from Tonga/Fiji. I swapped out the other fixture with a TekLight 8x54w. Here is an update with pictures. Once again, I apologize for the bad quality. FTS #1: FTS #2: Shot from short side: TekLight! I got a pair of false perculas yesterday, and they're hosting in my frogspawn. I'm looking to get rid of the other LPSs though (like that large GSP). Total flow is about 4600gph or approximately 32.8x the water volume. 2x1500gph from the Seios. 1100gph from the Panworld CLS. about 500gph from the QuietOne 3000 return after headloss. danskim
I drilled it myself except for the 3 holes made by Oceanic for the RR. Link to comment
reeferbarra20
I drilled it myself except for the 3 holes made by Oceanic for the RR. hmm. I still want to drill my 125 acrylic tank. What would you recommend I use? I was thinking about using a high speed dremel , but I have no experience using one. And bt5w my tank is 1/2" cell cast . Lemme know, thanks Link to comment
danskim
Hey... sorry for the late reply! I think a lot of people just use a regular hole saw you can find at a hardware store. It's probably best to get one with as many teeth as possible. I also hear it's safer to drill in the opposite direction as you would drill a screw. Link to comment
andre
The percs hosting in your frogspawn looks so cool. That is some crazy looking plumbing man. And if that is a wrasse, what kind is it? Link to comment

danskim
Thanks for the compliments. The dimensions are 48"x24"x29" (LWH). Basically it's like a 120g with an extra 5" height. Link to comment

fewskillz
Wow, beautiful setup. I love the equipment all on one end, makes for a nice 2-way fireplace style setup. Been scheming this look for a tank to sit in the pass through window from my kitchen to dining room. Pics of clowns hosting anything never get old. Link to comment
danskim
Yes, I bought 6 frags yesterday! I'm going to overdrive the middle 4 bulbs with a new IceCap 660 ballast. Go for it fewskillz, and post pictures! Link to comment

danskim
Sorry, no new pictures yet. I got a K2R calcium reactor that I hope to set up soon. I need my CO2 tank filled and some media. Link to comment
danskim
So it's been a little more than a month... I've set up the calcium reactor, and it's doing a fine job of keeping Ca levels up. I've also added 3 lyretail anthias, 5 blue-green chromis and a carpenters flasher wrasse. Link to comment
