hicksonj
I just received 10 3.6V 5mm blue leds from LedSupply for $20, and they are great. They have a 45 degrees viewable angle, so you only need 6 of them to light a 10G tank, and there isn't bright and dark spots. Here is the link. Link to comment
Chamkeeper
My suggestion would be to look into the Crap (radio) Shack part number, 276-316. This LED puts out 2600 MCD, (a measure of actual illumination), versus the 800 MCD your choosen LED emits. There are drawbacks to the RS unit. Your LED has a 45deg. viewing angle, the other is 30 deg. I think this could be adjusted with a reflector. Another thing to consider is moon phases. Using a larger number of LEDs you could turn them on and off to emulate the current phase of the moon. Just a thought, and I do like the LED Supply Site!!! Take some pics and keep the updates coming. hicksonj
Maybe I could make them runners (sequential blinkers), play a little barry white, and watch the spawning begin. Link to comment
