Iphantom
I was wondering if I could keep water already prepaired in a 5 gallon bucket I was going to put a heater a powerhead a floresent light and some small pieces of live rock(also for any rock I take out to add coral) and sand in a 5 gallon bucket for when I do water changes is this a good idea? will the water go "bad"? since it really wont be filtered thanks -Matt Link to comment
Chamkeeper
If this water is to be used for future water changes, skip the light and live rock. You won't need filtering, there won't be anything to be filtered. Aging a the water couple of days is ususally a good idea, and common practice. Link to comment
AquaMedic
Just to add to Iphantom's question, should the water be covered if you intend to leave it for a day or two ? ??? Link to comment
3twenty5
wont u get evaporation if its uncovered? Then it will mess with your salinty level? I figured the only way was to got to LFS and get the saltwater right before the water change? Link to comment
Spudds
Keeping it covered is the best idea. My current mixing bucket is uncovered and if I let it mix for much longer then 24 hours it gets noticably dirty, though it might just be the room. Spudds. Link to comment
