Hurricane
Well I have been trying to catch a bristle worm and I finialy got fed up and just split the LR peice open. I think I Killed it, but upon opening it I found these little 'acorn' looking things. the tip of the 'acorn' does have an opening on the outside of the LR. I think there are animal(s) in there but I am not sure. This is the first time I have split any LR and I don't know if this is good or bad. The acorn looking things have a light brown color. Also, this is my first post! I ahve been visiting this site since I got my nano for xmas. Thanks Harry ps if I use the attach file section, can I only attach one pic? Link to comment
sjpresley
Looks like it is probably the shell of a boring snail or clam. On another note, bristle worms are entirely beneficial to your system, one very rarely imported species eats coral, and others are largely detritivores, even the huge "fire worms" are not considered harmful to much that isn't already dead by people that study them. Acoustic
Man you went mad ape on your live rock. A simple freshwater dip would have sufficed. Link to comment
Hurricane
My bad. I just read the post about the bristle star and wrote bristle worm. What I ment was bottle brush worm. Would a fresh water dip have worked for that also???? Thanks Harry Link to comment
