HogWinslow Posted June 22, 2006 Share Posted June 22, 2006 I went to Radio Shack today and bought a 12.6 volt AC, 450mA Power Transformer. It looks like a small ballast for a light. I want it to run two small fans that say 0.11A 12VDC on them. Will this do what I want it to do? neanderthalman Posted June 23, 2006 Share Posted June 23, 2006 Won't quite work, though it will get you close. You'll need to put one of these between that transformer and the fan, to "rectify" the AC voltage to a DC voltage. Normally you'd also add a capacitor to smooth the voltage, but for what you're doing it shouldn't be necessary. Rectifier Link to comment
