I only have a portion of my live rock in my tank so far but i was wondering once I have all of my live rock in my tank.. how long before i can get damsels? How long should it take for my tank to cycle and how will i know? Oh btw I have a 24g aquapod.. thanks! Link to comment
Kellie in CA Posted June 18, 2006 Share Posted June 18, 2006 IMO don't get any damsels, you will grow to hate them. You can't put any fish in unil the cycle is complete, it should take about a month. Do you have a test kit? The only way you will know is to monitor your progress by testing every few days. Link to comment
Gman91 Posted June 18, 2006 Share Posted June 18, 2006 it will help out your cycle if you get some water from a tank at you lfs. thats what I did, and my tank was completly cycled wthin 2 weeks.you can also tell that your tank is cycled, because you will get a bloom of brown algea, forget what it's called.
