clowns and hosts

Or as in my case, none of the above. Just don't get too frustrated if they choose to not host at all. The aquarium should not be hostile territory to them, so they don't feel as comelled to find a protective host.

 

You have a slightly better chance with wild-caught clowns than tank-raised ones, but even then I've seen ones that took a host, and decided to go hostless a few months later.

 

The only hosts that have a high chance of success are their natural hosting anemone.... but that usually isn't practical.

my clown has taken the water's surface as it's host. it swims around like it's dying, sideways, rubbing against the surface of the water. It will even rub against my hand when I clean the tank, or tinker with the scaping. Sadly, this bizzarro behavior has been going on for close to 4 months now.
