DongShenYin
I'm looking to get a AGA 7 gallon tank. How many pounds of aragonite and/or sand should I use? How many pounds of LR? I don't want to displace so much water that I can't keep at least one fish. I'm leaning towards a FOWLR tank, or perhaps have a mushroom or two. Therefore, do I need to upgrade the lighting? Christopher Marks
For a 7 gallon mini-bow nano reef you will need about 7 pounds of liverock and 7-10 pounds of sand, depending on how deep of a sand bed you want. The lighting that comes with the tank will be fairly yellow looking. If you don't want to upgrade the lighting system, I would at least concider looking for a 50/50 fluorescent bulb to replace the one it comes with. Link to comment
DongShenYin
It's a 14 watt bulb, right? Who sells 14 watt 50/50 bulbs? I haven't seen them in any catalogue or stores. Link to comment
Christopher Marks
I'm not certain. I'm pretty sure it's 14w though. I do know that getting a lamp that size which is colored for a saltwater tank is difficult. Maybe try searching some of the online stores? I know Custom Aquatic carries a lot of unusual sized items.
