SeaFish Posted February 15, 2003 Share Posted February 15, 2003 with a 20g reef tank and a remora with maxi jet and a hang on filter, how often should i change my water? currently i do it every three weeks. is this too long of a time? when i change my water i change about 4 gallons at a time. is this too little water change or too much? If they are ok then continue with it, if they seem a little stressed check the levels and see if everything is ok. It's hard to tell how many water changes you need or when you need them, it all depends on the tank itself. HTH Link to comment

littlec Posted February 16, 2003 Share Posted February 16, 2003 As a "newbie-to-nano's" but not to saltwater (10 years on and off), I would tend to agree with the caveat that Chris hinted at... make sure you test the water in order to monitor the tank conditions. Keep a log of your test results - that will tell you if your schedule of water changes is truly sufficient. Link to comment
