Is My Temp Too High?

Cycling my tank at the moment-- it's my second week. My temperature is fluxuating between 80-83 F. I have a 10g tank with 150w HQI viper. I've raised the lamp as far off the water as I can but still have heating problems. I don't want to buy a cooling unit and was wondering if 80-83 F would be okay for fish and corals. Anyone have success running at tank in this temperature range?

Get a clip-on fan from the drugstore--maybe like a 6 or 7" blade. I had one, and it brought my 30 with an enclosed canopy last summer from 85 to 79. It was like ten bucks, and overpriced at that, but it worked excellent and didn't die. I wouldn't let the tank temp get any higher than 81, but swing is also bad.
