Foogoo
I have a large toadstool which has been going through problems but is improving. The lower half of it's stalk is shrunken while the top half including the crown is inflated and healthy. If i leave it standing naturally, it's weight will cause it to bend over at the bad part of the stump. So should I: 1) Leave it standing with it bent and hope for the best. or 2) Lie it flat so the whole stump would be straight, but risk rot and critters. or 3) Other suggestions? Link to comment
tinyreef
unless there's some kind of injury to be causing the weak stalk i'd let it stand on its own. it may be 'bending or tilting' for a reason. (i.e. light, water flow, growth/movement, etc.) laying it down will just force it to bend its crown toward the light anyway and promote the issues you mentioned. if you're concerned still, then i would prop another piece of rock close to the toadstool. it may even grow onto that rock and you could split it for two leathers. good luck!
