i added a piece of sps i got yesterday, and the fire shrimp immediately jumped on it and started pulling out fleshy stuff from the skeleton (the little holes).

i removed the sps and placed it in another tank. fire shrimps do this?

I have sps in my tank with a fire shrimp and he doesn't bother them but he does bother my anemone. I feed my anem silversides and he goes and takes it away.

as a cleaner shrimp, they can sometimes tell when something is dead or dying, and start to go at it, maybe before it's even had a chance to see if it recovers. i know people have had a problem in the past with cleaners and clams sometimes, where the cleaner senses the clam is going downhill so just goest after it. that might have been it.
