lizbeth
The 55s are approx. 21" they vary a bit by brand. Check out http://www.ahsupply.com/index.html. Lots of good info and I like their products and shipping. Link to comment
Stew
will do!!! AND----Thanks alot, lizbeth!!! Only 21"? they will fit a 20 hood, then!!! 4x55 -----220w total...too much????? Link to comment
lizbeth
Yes they will fit in a 20 hood. I have 2x55 on my twenty from AHS. Three would fit with the reflectors. I'm thinking about ordering one more so I can have more light, although my corals (softies and LSP) are doing fine. It would be nice to have the option of having one actinic to run by it's self if I want to. Link to comment
MrConclusion
I agree with adin & liz, go with 55 watt PC's. They will fit well over a 24" long tank. Two or three of those will do very nicely for almost anything you want to keep. Acropora and Maxima clams seem to like halide light better; at least they tend to "color-up" better in MH systems, but plenty of PC-using reefers are keeping them both with success. Link to comment
