loopy73
How important is it for a light to be used in conjuncion with a HOB refugium. im planning on setting up a 10g with the thought of buying a aquafuge or making one. thanks in advance Link to comment
Crakeur
the macro algae in the fuge will need some light. some macros need less light than others but I wouldn't go without a light fixture unless you have a decent amount of sun shining on the fuge. Link to comment
loopy73
if the back of the tank is left uncovered would enough light filter through from the main tank? also from the the light that is slightly above the water? Link to comment
Rocket_155
you might get a bit of reflection coime from the main tank, but usually it's not enough, and you'll end up add a light. HTH Link to comment
loopy73
would a 13 watt lamp be enough. i see theres talk in doityourself forum about using 13watt droplights in a 6500k lamp. Link to comment
Korbin
It depends on what you want to use the 'fuge for. If you want to export massive amounts of algae, then you will need a light. If you just want to raise copepods with some liverock you dont need a light. Also, if you want to have a deep sandbed in it and thats all, you wont need a light for that. Link to comment
