My 1.5ish gallon Office Pico

I have had a setup like this before and wanted to set one up at the office. It is a kit designed for bettas from Red Sea. I put live sand and calerpa (sp) in the filter.

 

All it is right now is 1 small green chromis that will end up in my 30 long when he gets bigger, 2 red hermits, and 2 red mushrooms.

 

Here is the tank itself, I am using it as a bookend

I might frag the shrooms and try to trade them back to the lfs for some xenia and zoo frags. My lfs caters to nano people like me, he sells single shrooms for $4 for the reds and $7 for the blues and stripes. I would really like to get a multi color zoo frag rock going, I used to love those.

very cool tank! i have had one of these for a year. i've never thought of using the filter as a refugium....I just might try it. i modified the light to make it more intense and added a clear lid to mine. it also keeps the tank warm.

Mine stays warm, if it the light stays on more than 10 hours it will bring the tank into the high 90s.

Be careful using that tank as a book end. I did the same thing with a 2gal clawed-frog tank once until the books fell over and slid the tank of the edge of my desk.
