Flatworm Exit

I know some of you out there have used flatworm exit with success. I've searched the threads but i couldn't find a definitive answer on whether or not a skimmer is required to treat the tank with. I understand that siphoning out as many as possible before the treatment, running carbon,siphoning out dead/dying worms and a large water change should be done. But is this all i need to do? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys
