bigbabich
I got a wicked deal from the LFS. Yellow Gorgonian. Non photosynthetic. It's all alive right now. been feeding the crap out of it to make up for the fact that I initially thought it was photosynth. Got a deal on it as my LFS probably figured they couldn't keep it alive. It will not work out in my nano...or my 29. I've had it for a month and it's happy but my sailfin blenny has started snapping at it. It's free if you can come to newburyport or Acton, MA. It's only free if you don't ###### at me for getting something I can't take care of. Want to throw in a small frag I won't argue. But I do not want this beautiful piece to get hurt, so I'm giving it away. Link to comment

bigbabich
bump... and I hope the only reason for the bump-ness is the lack of reefers neer me. I'm not shipping these as I'm unsure of the ability to ship. anyone near me? Freeeeeeeee! Link to comment

bigbabich
It's not really the distance. I just don't want to have to pack it all up and then pay for shipping and have to get payed back and all that ######. I know it makes me seem lazy. I'm just hoping someone near me will want it. I think I have someone. Link to comment
bowfront26
bump, i just paid $50 for one:( very cool coral. are you sure the blenny isn't just cleaning it? Link to comment
bigbabich
I had a bit of cyano on it. So the blenny cleaned it. He might have bit a polyp off accidentally. a few days later he just sits in it's branches and nips at it. All the polyps still pop out so he must have been cleaning it, but he does seem to aim for the polyps but they are mostly unharmed. The gorg LOVES water changes. I scrape off the sides of the tank to algae-ify the water and add some algae liquid, it goes nuts. It's still very healthy but I do worry. I have only been doing this 5 months now, and while massively addicted and now with a 29, I know I'm still ignorant. Link to comment
kiltboy1675
why dont you give the blenny away Link to comment
bigbabich
why don't I give the blenny away? I think you're missing the point. I'm worried about caring for the coral (which is going ok). The blenny is fine with everyone in the tank and does a good cleaner. Link to comment

littletyger
Hee hee, Seth! I live in Middleton and I'd take you up on it except that my tank isn't set up, yet. Try posting this with Boston Reefers Society, I'm sure someone there will help the gorgonian out. Speaking of saving sea creatures, stop by Danvers Petco. The tanks are covered in black slime and the fish are all sick. There's a yellow tang that's been there about a month now that would break your heart. He's pale yellow and all messed up looking like he's been through hell. He was there before the black slime showed up so I don't know how he got that way. I wish someone would save him, but I wish even more that Petco would just stop stocking marine fish. Link to comment
