wetworx101
Ok, I ordered ten of those float switches that have been mentionedso much in this forum. Heres the idea: besides being used for top off, I believe these could be used for an effective wave maker. A pump would fill the container shown at the top with water...until the float switch would go into the up/on position...turning on the powerhead that would start the syphon made of 1/2" PVC...making a surge...then the water level goes down...float goes down/off...powerhead turns off...syphon keeps on going until container is drained...container fills again and repeat!!! I will have to add an overflow JIC something goes wrong and the container might try to overflow... I am concerned with long term durability...could this wear out a powerhead? Floatswitch? Can I use those floats on a largewr powerhead? Link to comment
Super novice
There are many ways of DIY wave/surge devices. Many are simpilar than this one with lees moving/working parts however your idea should work. Link to comment
