glazer Posted February 4, 2003 Share Posted February 4, 2003 Many sub species of Hydnophora's and I'm sure most will tell you that is what it is... Buuuuut, because that pic you posted looks EXACTLY like what I have... do a search for Paraclavarina triangularis. It's grouped with Hydno's but it's the only one of it's kind. I have now expended AND extended my Latin abilities waaay beyond tolerable levels and must now go lay down... Link to comment

I have looked in the tank at various times during the night and have never seen it closed. I will try to get a better shot when I scrape the glass again, I'm sure it will close up when I irritate it. sjpresley Posted February 9, 2003 Share Posted February 9, 2003 It really looks like a typical Hydnophora exesa. Short blunt tentacles, little mounds between the coralites (called hydnophores). Paraclavularia doesn't have these. Link to comment
