doncb Posted March 12, 2006 Share Posted March 12, 2006 I've got a 2.5 w/o a hood and one with. The one w/o has a plexi cover to reduce evaporation. It doesn't fully cover the top though. You do want some air flow across the water. Link to comment

You do want some air flow across the water. I am not a fan of hoods on small tanks. I think they trap in the hot air too much. I like having a lot of room for airflow. - Chad Link to comment
