tbeck Posted February 1, 2003 Share Posted February 1, 2003 Now in day 21. Tank is 11 gal. Via Aqua. 12 Lbs. cured LR (Fiji)and 7 Lbs. Argonite. Lots of critter activity, pods, Feather Dusters, an Anemone that came out of nowhere, Corraline growth, plant life, bristle worms, algae, snails and many unknown things of all shapes and sizes. Got to a point about a week plus ago where there was significant brown material (diatoms?) coating the glass, rocks etc. Also some worm bodies, etc laying in the non water movement areas. The brown stuff is now subsiding, the rocks are getting cleaner and the dead stuff is disappearing. This has occured over the last few days. I test regularly but have seen no change. No ammonia, no nitrites/nitrates. All other measures have been consistent except for aPH swing of 8.0 to 8.2 during 1st week. When should I begin to see a spike and how do I know if the tank has begun to cycle?
