glazer Posted January 30, 2003 Share Posted January 30, 2003 well "WOOD" , as Cam said, No not really.... now "WOOD PRODUCTS"...yes or I mean no-no. Do not use MDF or any other type of particle board. Also no OSB (orientated strand board) unless it is an exterior grade, which uses waterproof/resistant glue. All of these product disintigrate with water or moisture. Just thought I'd throw this up as I have seen lots of people make stands with wierd stuff they got for free or cheap. Link to comment

slickwilly Posted February 1, 2003 Share Posted February 1, 2003 i got a little cheap with mine instead of hardwood, i used aaa pine 1x and 3/4 inch plywood for the sides and center. it will hold orver 600 lbs. but just like everybody else said stay away from particle board. the type doesnt matter as long as you seal it up good. hope this helps.
