I want to get one but I am worried about the glass cracking because I will be moving into a dorm and dont want it to break. Or should I just make my own? Link to comment
Arklier Posted February 12, 2006 Share Posted February 12, 2006 The 12s and 6s have never really had a huge problem with cracking, AFAIK. You should be fine, especially if you're getting an '06. Link to comment
mister_crabs Posted February 12, 2006 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Main reason the 6's and 12's might crack is an existing crack, scratch or bubble in the glass near the corners. Much less water in 12 or 6 as compared to the 24g so there is going to be much less stress on the glass. For example take two identical water balloons and fill one up with 24 oz of water and the other with 12.....which is going to break first? 24 cuz it has much more pressure being exerted from inside.
