the_sass72
I bought a Eheim Liberty 100 filter on my 2.5g minibow. My question is, do I need to remove the biofoam cartridges? I have a little over 3lbs of LR in the tank itself. I could remove a few of the smaller pieces and put in the filter if need be. On my first test Feb 5 my results were, Amonia 0.25, Nitrites 0, Nitrate 0. I added a piece of dead coral yesterday, no test, and my tests today are Amonia 0, Nitrite, 0, Nitrates 20, PH 8.2, salinity 1.021 It is appearing that I could be in the final stages of my cycle, although I know I don't have the bacteria build up yet. Am I thinking straight? Thanks! S Link to comment
Daemonfly
I prefer a no-filter media system. If you want to use some foam, then make sure you clean it very frequently. I'd probably just fill the filter with live rock rubble. Can also add carbon, purigen, etc.. if you desire. Link to comment
