i just put a rio pwr head in my 11 gal

via-aqua to ad alittle more flow.

Is water shooting out the top of your tank? Are rocks being knocked over and slamming into each other? Is there something akin to a sandstorm in the Sahara going on? If yes to any of the above to you have TOO MUCH flow.

 

Just cater your water movement to it's inhabitants, i.e.. nothing but shrooms then prolly around 10X an hour turnover is plenty. Got SPS? Then prolly just enough so the above mentioned "trouble signs" are not happening. Try to arrange PH's in a manner that you can get varying zones of water movement.
