Micro-Reefs Aquariums
Deltec's AP600 Skimmer all the way.... With a Mag 250 as the inlet pump... I believe my vote should count the most since I own that tank and all it's glory... hehehe Here is a pic of my tank and it's skimmer.... Link to comment
angelfishlover
An ASM G2 would be good Link to comment
Gwoardnog
If you can afford it, Deltec pwns all (well except for the bubble king). Yes, they're worth it. Link to comment
shag26272
yeah if you cant afford that I would look at Euroreef or ASM, MikeG I just noticed thought about something from your pics, One of my very 1st tanks was the same one you have but I remember the overflows being in the corner, I guess they moved it huh? trizzot
I am running the ASM G-3 on my 72 bowfront reef and its doing a great job. One of the best affordable skimmers i have ever seen or used. Link to comment
Micro-Reefs Aquariums
ReefGeek, So which one did you decide on? Do you have pics yet? MG Link to comment
shag26272
hopefully its not a Euroreef, I think I will be picking up an ASM and selling my Euroreef in the next few weeks. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.p...59&goto=newpost Link to comment
Micro-Reefs Aquariums
Why Shag? What is wrong with Euroreef? I thought they were 2nd in line with Deltec? MG Link to comment
shag26272
they are IMO but the customer service is the worst Ive ever seen. Check out that thread when RC comes back online. Link to comment
Micro-Reefs Aquariums
Ah, I read that a couple of days ago in the Deltec forum oh which I regularly visit.... I thought it was something other than customer service... Link to comment
shag26272
no but that is just as important as the quality of the product, I just dont want to have the skimmer break and have to wait 2 weeks for a part. Link to comment

oceanhighz
no im still waiting to get payed then i will get the tank, stand, canopy, lights, skimmer, and water, rock, sand and misc equipment after thatbut IM POORER THAN CRAP! ps im only 13 and i have to buy everything myself so its giong to take a while if that is your dream tank I understand why you want a bowfront, but if you want to spend less and get the same size tank and stand why don't you look at the regular rectangular tanks. It wouldn't take as long to save for and you'd get the same amount of water and equipment probably for about the same price as jsut the tank...... just a suggestion if you don't want to wait. It's definitely good that you're willing to be patient, that's a big part of this hobby. I've been in this hobby since I was 11 or 12 I cant' remember exactly and I know how it is to have to save and buy everything yourself. It makes you appreciate it that much more, and if you're lucky every once in awhile your parents or someone might surprise you with getting you something or becoming interested in the tank and wanting to help. Pili
Im sure that the deltecs are great skimmers but i would consider H and S also. H and S skim just as well as the deltecs but cost about $200 less than the deltec equivalent so you get more skimmer for the money. Check out the h and s thread on RC... http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.p...25&pagenumber=1 Best place to get them... http://www.finsreef.com./home.php?cat=248 Link to comment

They are up there in terms of being the "best", but maybe more than you are wanting to spend. There are plenty of other companies to look at too if you really want "the best", but considering the fact that you're 13, maybe consider something more economical, but still good, instead of the "best". ASM and ER are good quality from what I hear (I have not owned either, but the feedback seems to be good) and people are giving good reviews on the higher rated coralife super skimmers. You may want to look at some of the smaller companies too like MRC ( http://www.myreefcreations.com/ ), and GeosReef ( http://www.geosreef.com ). Unfortunately I don't know much about either company, but you can read up on them at ReefCentral and get a feel for their feedback. Link to comment
