All right guys, the nano is getting close and I need to nail down these light requirements. I have 2 28 watt PC with 6700 K and blue actinic.

1. Should I keep that set- up or go with 2 6700k's?

2. How far (inches) should I position the lights off the water?

I plan on keeping some softies and hard corals. No clams.;)

ok

1. i think you should go for the 10,000k globes if you can get them and 1 atinic globe.

2. how high is the tank? mostly the lights are about 1" or .5" off the top of the tank depending on the height.

Tank height is 12 inches. I can probably get the 10 K bulb. It comes in 32 watts and the LFS thinks the 28 watt ballast I have will power the 32 watt. Thanks for your help.

I would see about getting one of the new 88K or 10K not a 67K. I would keep the lights about 3" off of the water but that will be a pain when you want to get in and out of the tank. I had my 36W pc up on brackets about 6" above the surface which made it a little easier.
