Brie
This is my first question on this site, everyone is so informative! I have a 12 gal nano that has been up and running since July. The only fish I have in there are a cinnamon clown and a red scooter blenny. I've been having a lot of trouble with dark green algae despite constant water changes with distilled water. Can you have a protein skimmer in a 12 gal? If so, what kind would I be able to use? thanks! Link to comment
Mr. Fosi
I have run a Current "Fission" Nano Skimmer. It pulls a nice dark skimmate out of my 5gal FOWLR. I have to percs and assorted snails and hermits. http://www.current-usa.com/products/fission.html It is rated to around 12gal and costs only about $30. There are some issues to contend with, however: - It puts out micro bubbles - Requires a little experimentation to get a good skimmate - Elbows are prone to cracking, but Current-USA customer service is great All-in-all I have been very happy with it.
