chvynva916
I'm trying to figure out what kind of algae beast I have in my tank. It looks like reddish/brown slime algae but: 1: Now it is on the surface of my water 2: My Astrea snails are eating it (just not fast enough) and I've never seen them eat any of my other slime algae outbreaks. I can tell they are eating it because there are big clear spots on the glass whereever they slide across. What is this stuff? Link to comment
Dave ESPI
its a brown jelly unicelular algae that forms a matt. As to the species.//... NFC. Its quite harmless. Id cut back on feeding any frozen food or brine shrimp for a while, and do a W/c to see if it helps. It could be a form of sheeting diatom also. Link to comment
