JJshiv
I went to look at my tank this morning and there was some mucus like stuff hanging off a xenia. I then looked closer and there was a dead astrea snail at the base of the xenia and something worm like was hanging out of the shell. As soon as I shined my flashlight on it, it darted away so fast I could barely see it leave. Is this a bristle worm do you think? Did this little bastard kill and eat my astrea snail? I also lost a banggai cardinal not too long ago, could this little prick have done him in too? The same mucus junk was all over the dead banggai and he disappeared within a day of dying. The worm looked maybe 3 inches long and was an orangish brown. I dont want anymore dead things in my tank, what should I do? Link to comment
Satchmo
Probably a bristle worm. Doubt very much he killed your snail. He's probably just doing his job... disposing of the body. Link to comment
Krista
I again have to agree with Satchmo. Bristleworms come along after something has died and clean up the mess. Bristleworms are good! Link to comment
