tonkadawg
....detritus..... (Yes, I did a search, and it only returned instances where detritus was typed, not a definition) I've have heard the term used here quite frequently, but have not really found an explanation of what it is. Can someone enlighten me? The reason I am asking is I have noticed some nasty light brown 'stuff' hanging off my LR and on the surface of my LS. I am wondering if this 'stuff' is detritus. It doesn't appear to do any harm, other than kill the aesthetics of the tank. If this stuff is detritus, what is the best way to get rid of it? Please keep in mind that I don't really care to try and siphon the stuff off the LR and inbetween my few softies. If this is not detritus, any ideas what it might be? tank params: 21 gallon 2x36 temp 81 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 5 SG 1.024 ph 8.2 weekly water changes of 10% Link to comment
tinyreef
http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?detritus btw the brown 'stuff' could be the result of boring worms or mollusks digging into the LR. the crappie on the sand could be crappie from digger worms. (it's not their real names, just what i call them ) Link to comment
