SO !..... I get a few Pet industry "trade" magazines and I came across this lill juicy tid bit... thought Id share.

PET AGE; Januay2003 issue.

December of 2002 was the last month of TETRA products will be ran by the Pfizer Corperation. The Aquarium devistion was sold off to a Private exuity fund holders in Europe, as a representative of Pfizer was quotes as saying " this move will allow us to focus on the pharmasutica aspect of this Corperation". Officials expected the sale to the Triton Fund to close in late december for the tune of $ 238.5 MILLION Dollars for the holdings of the TETRA line and production facilities.

TETRA, a subsidiary of Warner-Lambert; joined Pfizer in June of 2000. However, the 50+ year old aquarium and pond company never fit into any of Pfizers overall business strategy and waslisted for sale as of last March. TETRA which has a 22% share in the food and equipment of the Aquarium hobby, had reported a worldwide revenue figure of just over $181.2 MILLION in 2001 Net in sales and a 18 % increase in sales dispite the lackluster economy.

Pfizer is still exploring strategic options for Adams and Schick Wilkinson Sword divisions, as an announcement came in late June of 2002.

LETS ALL HOPE THIS IS FOR THE BETTER !
