I was wondering if I have a 12 gal eclipse I wanted to buy a 'bookworm' pc light and mount it in the hood and keep the pc light that's already in the hood now but the area in the hood that I could put it would require me to remove the eclipse filter sys. I have a powerhead in there now is that enough to produce the O2 and water movement I need in the tank? The LS and LR should be doing all of the filtering I need right? Please let me know if I can take out the filter mechanism in my eclipse ??? thanks

I kept mine in. It provides good circulation, a place to put carbon in if you want, and a good biological/mechanical filter in addition to the rock. If you can find one, I would suggest getting the 32 watt Custom Sea Life retrofit kit for this tank. Its really easy to install and you can keep your filter.
